Isle of Capri

Client Background:
The Isle of Capri Casino is a tropically-themed casino, with 14 properties throughout the United States and the Bahamas, which offers players an opportunity for fun and excitement.

Challenge:
Design an annual report that reinforces the tropical brand and connects with people—investors, communities, players and shareholders to tell the story of 2006. At the time the project was assigned, the financial reports for 2006 had not been calculated, so it was unclear what type of financial year the client had.

Solution:
The theme, “A Bird’s Eye View”, and a graphic timeline were utilized to call attention to important events throughout 2006. It was a year marked by growth, opportunity, change, community outreach and personal heroism--escalated by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma--that shaped and strengthened the company. Bright, tropical colors and beautiful photography added life to the personal testimonials. Black and white photography emphasized important events on the timeline while allowing the colorful photos to take precedence. A soft, textured paper stock was chosen for the cover to reinforce the warm, friendly nature of the report.
